Apartment Description
Due to its high and airy position, underlined by brick grid which has been preserved at the back, in this room were stored hay and straw used for nourishment and shelter of the animals housed in the barn below (apartment La Greppia ). Originally the barn was accessed only via a wooden staircase, leaning against the opening arc which is now in the double room of the apartment. From there, via a pulley hanging from a wooden arm that is still in its original position (above the master bedroom window), it fell to less than the hay floor, which ended right near the entrance to the barn. This system allowed the farmer to save a bit ‘of forces that daily lavished working in the fields.
